About Alan Goodman
"There are no small instruments, only small players!"
Q: What do George Harrison, Tiny Tim, Eddie Vedder, Jake Shimabukuro
and Alan Goodman have in common?
A: They all love the ukulele! But only one is a certified teacher and only one lives near YOU! I have been teaching and playing professionally for over 40 years, and I live to share what I know!
A. Good Strings is your alternative to Pachabel’s ‘Canon’ at your wedding, ‘Polka Dots and Moonbeams’ at your cocktail hour or office party, and the endless and often pointless lessons for you and your kids. Some of my brides have walked down the aisle to ukulele renditions of ‘Here Comes the Sun’ and Josh Grobin tunes; some have walked to original guitar pieces I have composed for the occasion. Many a dinner party has been at first surprised and then delighted by the sound and power of the ukulele. Some of my students have impressed their schools with their performances of ethnic instruments such as the pipa and oud; and the ukulele has inspired its own club at our local high school (run by my star student!)
